Most of the imagery on this website, both stills and video, was obtained using Camera Trapping techniques.
Camera trapping is the ultimate exercise in “dogged determination.” It is a discipline where I combine my background in electronic engineering with a deep respect for animal behavior to capture images that are otherwise impossible to obtain. By designing and deploying custom-built infrared triggers and lighting arrays, I create high-fidelity studio environments in the middle of the wilderness.
Whether it is a mountain lion on a suburban ridgeline or a bobcat in the deep rural backcountry, my goal is to move beyond the “grainy trail cam” aesthetic. I aim to produce world-class imagery that treats wildlife with the same dignity as a studio subject, capturing the raw, nocturnal beauty of creatures that we usually only encounter as shadows.
When the sun goes down, a different world awakens. My work in nocturnal videography has supported major productions for AppleTV+ (Earth at Night in Color) and Disney/NatGeo, where the challenge is to document natural behavior without disturbing the subject. This requires a sophisticated mastery of “invisible” illumination and remote sensor technology.
I specialize in capturing video footage of the secret lives of urban and rural wildlife—from the steady, powerful gait of a bear to the frantic play of fox kits. By deploying high-definition, cinema-grade systems in remote locations, I provide a window into the complex social structures and survival strategies of our wild neighbors. This isn’t just surveillance; it is cinematic storytelling powered by specialized technology that respects the darkness.
